Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the MoneyManager app (hereinafter "Application") for Android and iOS, developed by Vadim Plămădeală (hereinafter "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is provided "AS IS". Last updated: 18 October 2026.

The short version

MoneyManager keeps your money data on your phone. You do not need an account to use it. If you choose to turn on backup, sync between devices or shared groups (PRO), your data is stored encrypted on our server in the European Union. The free version shows ads on Android and iPhone; PRO removes them. We never sell your data.

Accounts

The Application works without registration. It creates an anonymous technical account automatically so that backup and purchases can work if you ever turn them on. You may optionally link a Google, Apple or e-mail sign-in; we use it to restore your data on a new device, to let you join a shared group and to recognise your PRO purchase. Older versions of the Application also offered Facebook sign-in; accounts created that way remain available until the older version is retired.

What stays on your phone

Your accounts, transactions, budgets, categories, templates, notes and settings are stored in a database on your device. They leave the device only in the cases described below. Uninstalling the Application removes the local data; if you turned on PRO backup you can restore it by signing in again.

What information we collect, and when
  • Backup, sync and shared groups (PRO, only when you turn them on): the data you enter (accounts, transactions, budgets, notes) is stored encrypted on our server (Supabase, European Union). Members of a shared group can see what the group's permissions allow.
  • Automatic capture of payments (optional): if you turn it on, the Application reads notifications of the banking or payment apps you choose (Android) or the payment details passed by an iPhone Shortcuts automation. This is done on your phone. Only if you also enable "Ask AI" (PRO), the text of a notification the Application cannot read on its own is sent to our server function and from there to Anthropic (Claude) to be read, with card numbers removed first. We keep only daily counters tied to a hashed network address, for 7 days, to limit abuse.
  • Feedback: if you send feedback, the message, the optional e-mail address you add and, if you tick the box, your device model, operating system and app version are stored on our server and e-mailed to the Service Provider.
  • Purchases: your PRO status is managed with RevenueCat on top of Google Play Billing or the App Store. We do not see or store your payment card details.
  • Diagnostics and analytics: we use Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase to learn about crashes and which features are used. This includes the device type, operating system, app version and an app installation identifier.
  • Advertising (Android and iPhone, free version): Google AdMob shows ads and may use your device's advertising ID, approximate location derived from the IP address and information about how you interact with the ads. In the European Economic Area and other regions that require it, a consent form is shown the first time you open the Application, before any ad. On iPhone the Application then asks, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether it may use your advertising identifier for personalised ads; if you decline you see non-personalised ads. You can change your choices any time in Settings, under "Privacy options", and in iOS Settings. PRO removes the ads.
  • Location: the Application does not ask for your location and does not collect precise location.

Does the Application use Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

Only in the optional "Ask AI" feature described above, which is available to PRO users who turn it on. It reads the amount, currency and merchant from a payment notification. It is not used to profile you or to show ads.

Service providers that process data for us

We use the following providers; each has its own privacy policy. They process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes, except Google AdMob for advertising.

  • Supabase (server, European Union)
  • Anthropic (reading payment notifications, optional)
  • RevenueCat (purchases)
  • Resend and Brevo (sending e-mails: feedback notifications and sign-in e-mails)
  • Firebase (Crashlytics, Analytics, remote settings)
  • Google AdMob (ads, Android)
  • Google Play Services and Apple

The Service Provider may also disclose information:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;
  • when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, your safety or the safety of others, to investigate fraud or to respond to a government request.

Your rights and how to opt out

You can use the Application without any server-side data by never turning on backup, sync, groups or "Ask AI". You can turn each of them off in Settings, withdraw the advertising consent in "Privacy options", and uninstall the Application at any time. If you are in the European Economic Area you also have the right to access, correct, export and delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Use Settings > Export data to get a copy, or contact us.

Data retention and deletion

Data on your phone stays until you delete it. Data on our server (backup, sync, groups) stays until you delete your account and data. You can do that in the Application under Settings > Delete all data or by e-mail; see the deletion page. Feedback messages are kept until handled and then deleted on request. Abuse-limiting counters are kept for 7 days. Analytics and crash data are kept according to Firebase's retention settings (up to 14 months). Backups of the server database are kept for a short time and then overwritten.

How does the Application address children's privacy?

The Application is intended for people aged 18 and over. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact the Service Provider (vitp.work@gmail.com) so that it can be deleted.

How is your information kept secure?

Data sent to or from our server travels over encrypted connections. Data stored on the server is encrypted. Access is limited to what is needed to run the service. No system can prevent every breach, but we work to provide reasonable protection.

Purchases and payments

PRO is bought through Google Play Billing or the App Store. Payment card details go directly to Google or Apple and are never seen by us. RevenueCat receives the purchase status so that PRO works on all your devices.

International transfers

Our server is in the European Union. Some providers (for example Anthropic, Google, RevenueCat, Resend and Brevo) may process data outside the European Economic Area under standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

How will you be informed of changes to this Privacy Policy?

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The new version is published on this page with a new "Last updated" date. You are advised to check it regularly.

How do you give your consent?

By using the Application you consent to the processing of your information as described in this policy, as amended. Optional features (backup, sync, groups, automatic capture, "Ask AI", ads personalisation) are turned on only by you, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

How can you contact us?

If you have any questions about privacy, contact the Service Provider by e-mail at vitp.work@gmail.com.
